Hi, I had to register for VAT (effective as of 1st Nov) and need to update my tax details on Bullet.
How’s Leeloo, still barking mad!
... message continued... sorry.. I cannot find an option of adding a vat rate or setting up vat tax periods
Sure just answer the following questions and we'll do it. It can mess up your accounts so we like to do it ourselves :) saves you lots of hassle later.
We can register you for VAT on Bullet. Please provide the following.
You VAT number.
2) The date the government registered you for VAT.
3) Your company name.
4) The email you use to manage that company in Bullet.
Hi Peter:) barking even more, she's groing into a boisterous studio guard dog:)
Ha, well I think she's telling your land lords son to Cop on and get your own keys
he's actually getting better with the key:) and thanks to him we have new tarmac and lovely planters around the yard- the place is transformed!
I didn't get the official reg letter from revenue yet but my vat status is active
Good. I had a some fellas call around when I left.
Just the date of registration and company name now.
I applied for a vat period to start on 1st Nov 2015, I'm registered under my full name
Cool - was that date the date Revenue registered you for VAT of the date of registration?
Sorry Peter, my mail box sucked me in... I registered on 18th Oct. so according to the information I found in Revenue Help the reg should be active in the first upcoming vat period, in this case 1st nov. Does it make any sense?
I registered on cash rather than invoice basis
Perfect. Always cash bases. No mater what anyone tells you.
Well set that up and let you know. From now on your bills and invoices will have a Vat drop down.
When your cat return is ready you see it in your todo.
You just download the vat file and upload it to ROS. That's it! Vat done, easy piesy.
Thanks Peter, we'll see about easy-peasy... not sure about that...;)
Have a good weekend
Trust me. It's all automated.
That's done now.

I have claimed for vat on receipts for company expenses I thought I had used my personal debit card to pay for but I actually used the company account. To be clear – for example I bought some stationary from Muji for the company office using the company debit card entered it into Bullet as having paid for it out of my personal account and then issued a VAT claim with the incorrect info.128Foreign Exchange: How To See A Foreign Exchange Gain
